2. Fundraising and Development Manager:

  • Position: Securing Financial Resources.
  • Description: This role is responsible for developing and implementing the fundraising strategy, including grant writing, donor cultivation, community share offers, crowdfunding campaigns, and other fundraising initiatives. They will also manage relationships with funders and investors, track fundraising progress, and prepare financial reports. This is initially a volunteer role that will transition to a paid position.

3. Community Engagement Coordinator:

  • Position: Building and Nurturing the RWOTS Community.
  • Description: This role focuses on building and maintaining relationships with community members, volunteers, and supporters. They will manage membership programs, organize community events, facilitate communication, and ensure that the community’s voice is heard in decision-making processes. They will also oversee volunteer recruitment and management. This is initially a volunteer role that could become a paid position.

4. Marketing and Communications Manager:

  • Position: Promoting RWOTS and its Activities.
  • Description: This role is responsible for developing and implementing the marketing and communications strategy, including managing social media channels, creating website content, designing marketing materials, handling public relations, and promoting events. They will also build the RWOTS brand and ensure consistent messaging across all platforms. This is initially a volunteer role that could become a paid position.

5. Events Manager:

  • Position: Planning and Executing Events.
  • Description: This role is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing all RWOTS events, including free parties, festivals, gigs, workshops, and retreats. They will handle logistics, bookings, ticketing, event marketing, and on-site management. They will need to have strong organizational skills and experience in event production. This is likely a paid position.

6. Site and Infrastructure Manager:

  • Position: Overseeing Land, Buildings, and Sustainability.
  • Description: This role is responsible for managing the physical site, including overseeing land acquisition, infrastructure development, building projects, and ongoing maintenance. They will also be responsible for implementing and managing sustainable practices, such as renewable energy systems, water management, and waste reduction. They will need experience in construction, project management and sustainable practices. This is likely a paid position.

7. Volunteer Coordinator:

  • Position: Managing and Supporting Volunteers.
  • Description: This role is responsible for recruiting, training, and managing volunteers. They will match volunteers with appropriate tasks, provide support and guidance, and organize volunteer appreciation events. They will work closely with the Community Engagement Coordinator and other team members. This is initially a volunteer position.

8. Finance and Administration Officer:

  • Position: Managing Finances and Administrative Tasks.
  • Description: This role is responsible for managing the project’s finances, including bookkeeping, budgeting, financial reporting, and processing payments. They will also handle administrative tasks such as managing email correspondence, maintaining records, and providing support to the team. This is initially a volunteer role that will transition to a paid position.

9. Music and Arts Coordinator:

  • Position: Curating and Managing the Music and Arts Program.
  • Description: This role is responsible for developing and managing the music and arts programming at RWOTS, including booking artists, curating events, and overseeing the development of any music studios or art spaces. They will work closely with the Events Manager and build relationships with musicians, artists, and the wider alternative culture scene. This is initially a volunteer role that could become a paid position.

10. Land and Growing Coordinator:

  • Position: Implementing and Managing Permaculture Systems.
  • Description: This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the permaculture gardens, food forests, and other land-based projects. They will also organize workshops and educational programs related to permaculture and sustainable food production. They will need a strong understanding of permaculture principles and practical experience in gardening and land management. This is initially a volunteer role that could become a paid position.

  • These roles can be adapted and combined based on the skills and availability of individuals within the RWOTS community.
  • As the project grows and generates more revenue, more of these roles will transition from volunteer to paid positions.
